George Ezra Budapest
George Ezra- Budapest
Camerawork
The music video begins with an bird eye's view shot of a large crowd of people. This suggests to the audience that it is a natural surrounding where lots of people go to however what makes this effective is how the camera zooms into the artist singing. This looks especially effective because the rest of the people are stood still and it directly highlights that he is the artist.
The close up of the artist then indicates his emotion and displays him lip synching. It expresses how he is portraying to the audience the meaning of the song.
There is then another shot displaying how everyone is starting to move and becoming them themselves and making a change. The bird's eye shot indicates the large amount of people and how the song is about more than just one person.
Editing
There are then numerous cuts between the crowd expressing how everyone is different. This is also effective because it highlights to the audience what is happening around the artist. Additionally there is quick editing cuts when the people put glasses on.
This looks effective because they are sharp cuts perhaps conveying how everyone looks at the world in the same way but nobody makes a change or doesn't want to make a change.
The continuous cutting also expresses how people are starting to show they are different to each other and that everyone should accept them for who they are.
Mis-en-scene
The people are all wearing different, everyday clothes suggesting to the audience that everyone is normal and how everyone is constantly following the same pattern and that people are scared to change themselves and they just want to follow everyone else. The artist is also playing the guitar, this creates a connection between the artist and the audience meaning they feel involved with the song as though he is singing towards them.
The spotlight on the artist emphasis how he is the artist but also how he is trying to create that meaning and connection with the audience.
